Glasvegas inspire huge terrace-chants at Leeds Festival

Glasvegas stormed Leeds Festival tonight (August 22), inspiring huge chants of the chorus to their debut single, the soon to be re-released 'Daddy's Gone', that carried on long after they left the stage.

The Festival Republic tent was completely packed for the Glasgegian rockers' appearance, which saw them preview new songs their forthcoming self-titled debut album, out September 22, including 'Polmont On My Mind' and 'Lonesome Swan'.

Taking to the stage in a black poncho, singer James Allan proceeded to fire his band through one of the most impressive sets of the weekend so far, including previous singles 'It's My Own Cheating Heart That Makes Me Cry' and 'Geraldine'.

'Go Square Go', meanwhile, inspired loud "here we fucking go" chants.

Speaking exclusively to NME.COM after the set, bassist Paul O'Donoghue said the band were more nervous about their appearance on football TV show 'Soccer AM' tomorrow morning (August 23) than their set.

"If I end up taking the penalty at the end, I'm worried I'll humiliate myself and fall over," he said.
