Babyshambles and Carl Barat turn out for Glasvegas gig
Band pack out the London Scala
Glasvegas played their biggest London show to date last night (September 23), play before a packed audience the Scala in Kings Cross.
The show had sold out in minutes, with tickets changing hands for may times the original price outside the venue. Among the crowd were Babyshambles' Mik Whitnall plus Dirty Pretty Things' Carl Barat and Anthony Rossomando.
The Glasgow four-piece played in front of a backdrop displaying shimmering lights and a huge spread of the artwork featured on the sleeve of their self-titled debut album.
The set included opened with 'Flowers And Football Tops' and included previous single 'Geraldine' and a newly-extended version of slow burner 'Ice Cream Van', featuring epic guitar blasts at the death.
As is now tradition with the band's gigs, the biggest sing-a-long of the set came during set closer 'Daddy's Gone'.
The band stopped playing halfway through the song to let the audience sing for them, before cutting back in for an epic close to the set.
