Glasvegas thrilled a packed house at their first-ever gig at Austin's South by Southwest Festival tonight (March 18).

The Glaswegian four-piece began their set 45-minutes late due to technical difficulties of opening band Peter, Bjorn and John, but neither the band nor the crowd let the delay or the close quarters at Vice dampen their spirits.

They kicked off their 45-minute set with the crowd-pleasing 'Geraldine' before launching into 'Lonesome Swan'. Frontman James Allan said hardly a word throughout the set, but delivered each lyric with great emotion.

The crowd was made up of industry types curious to catch a glimpse of one of this year's biggest "buzz bands" as well as fans who knew the songs so well they sang along to nearly every word.

When asked how he felt to be playing his first-ever South by Southwest Festival, Allan told NME.COM that he was happy the venue was so packed. "People are totally squashed in, which I quite like," he said. He added that their SXSW experience so far had been "quite cosmic" and revealed that the band may soon be spending an extended period of time Stateside, recording part of their next album in Los Angeles.
