Glasvegas speak out over James Allan's disappearance

Band say they had difficulty tracking him down because he doesn't own a mobile

Glasvegas have spoken about singer James Allan's recent disappearance.

Guitarist Rab Allan said the main reason they had difficulty tracking down their frontman, who went AWOL last week, was primarily because he hasn't owned a mobile phone for the last six months.

"The only way we could get in touch with him was by e-mail," he said. "I knew he was okay, but everyone else seemed a little bit worried. I think the record company [was] pretty worried.

"He has [a cell phone] now, yes. We got him one on his glorious return, so he now has a phone."

The band were reunited with Allan in Boston, where they supported Kings Of Leon on Friday night (September 11).

"We flew into Boston and then he got the train from New York up to Boston and met us," said the band's guitarist.

"We went and had some food. We asked him if he was okay. We asked him if he wanted to talk about anything. Everything was fine, and we [decided to] put it behind us and move on."

Although the band spoke about his return, mystery still surrounds the reason as to why their singer went missing.

Allan told Spinnermusic that he wasn't putting their frontman under any pressure to talk about it.

"He's quite a creative person," the guitarist added. "He's quite a private person as well, so I think when he wants to talk, he will talk."
