MTV Europe Music Awards winners revealed

Gnarls Barkley and Justin Timberlake were the big winners at the MTV Europe Music Awards last night (November 2).

The groups took home two gongs each from the ceremony held in Copenhagen, Denmark, with Timberlake being named Best Male Act and Best Pop, while Danger Mouse and Cee-Lo’s project picked up Best Song for ’Crazy’ and the Future Sounds award, which was voted for by artists rather than viewers.

Hosted by Timberlake, other winners at the bash included The Killers for in the best Best Rock category and Muse, who won the Best Alternative prize.

The Kooks were named the UK & Ireland Act of the year, while new rave godfathers Simian were given Best Video for the Justice remix of 'We Are Your Friends'.

Best Video - Justice Vs Simian - 'We Are Your Friends'
Future Sounds - Gnarls Barkley
UK & Ireland Act - The Kooks
Adriatic Act - Alexandra Kovaè
African Act - Freshlyground
Baltic Act - BrainStorm
Danish Act - Outlandish
Dutch & Belgian Act - Anouk
Finnish Act - Poets of the fall
French Act - Diam's
German Act - Bushido
Italian Act - Finley
Norwegian Act - Marit Larsen
Polish Act - Blog 27
Portuguese Act - Moonspell
Romanian Act - DJ Project
Russian Act - Dima Bilan
Spanish Act - La Excepción
Swedish Act – Snook


Performers on the night included The Killers, Timberlake, P Diddy, Keane and Muse, whose rendition of 'Starlight' included the biggest ever laser beam to be featured on a TV programme.
