A UK tabloid says the star was arrested after a pub landlord claims he was struck by a glass ashtray...

GOLDIE is reported to have been arrested in connection with an alleged assault.

According to a report in this morning's The Sun newspaper (August 10), the drum'n'bass star, who has recently taken a part in UK soap opera 'EastEnders', was arrested at his home yesterday and held for six hours, before being bailed by Hemel Hempsted police.

The arrest is said to follow allegations made by pub landlord Stephen Elliot, who claims the star hit him with a glass ashtray at The Bell pub in Bovington, Hertfordshire.

Police are unable to confirm the identity of the arrested man, but have issued a statement confirming a 35 year-old man from Bovingdon was arrested in relation to the incident.

In part, the statement reads: "The alleged incident took place at around 4.30pm at The Bell, Bovingdon, and the alleged victim suffered facial injuries amounting to actual bodily harm.

"The suspect was questioned at Hemel Hempsted Police Station and released on bail pending further enquiries. He is due to return to the police station on a date to be fixed, possibly later this month."
