Gomez have been forced to cancel a festival appearance in SWEDEN this weekend due to a "personal tragedy" within the band.
The band were due to play the Teater-stage at a festival in Hultsfred, Sweden, joining other bands Oasis, Travis, Rage Against The Machine, Kelis, Asian Dub Foundation, Badly Drawn Boy and Muse between June 15-17.
However, the band have been forced to cancel, with a statement on the official festival website in Sweden, www.rockparty.se, claiming their decision to pull out was due to a "personal tragedy". A UK spokesperson for Gomez could not elaborate on why the band had pulled out of the festival.
Hultsfred is one of the longest standing and largest music festivals in Sweden, attracting in the region of 30,000 music fans annually. Gomez are also scheduled to make an appearance at this year's T In The Park festival at Balado, near Kinross in Scotland on July 8.
