Highly-rated newcomers have expanded their set specially for London show

Good Books pen new songs for gig

Hotly tipped Kent newcomers Good Books have revealed that they have been busy writing songs for their forthcoming London show.

The band who play The Birthday Party night at London’s Tatty Bogle on January 21, recently revealed to NME.COM that they had only written six songs, but have since been busy writing ahead of the club date.

“We’ll have nine songs ready to go for the show,” said singer Max Cooke. “They are our best yet.”

Entry to the gig costs £3 – though punters need to sign up as a free member of the venue. For more information go to Thebirthdayparty.co.uk.

The band are yet to sign a record deal, but as well as been included as one of NME’s picks for 2006, have already impressed The Magic Numbers, who declared themselves fans.

Good Books will also join the The Dead 60s at their ShockWaves NME Awards 2006 show on February 11.
