The cartoon band get some serious treatment...

GORILLAZ are to feature in their own documentary on CHANNEL 4, NME can reveal.

Channel 4 News reporter Krishnan Guru-Murthy will front the 30-minute documentary, investigating the Gorillaz phenomenon. The programme will blend the real world of co-creators Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett with the fantasy cartoon world inhabited by the band. During the programme, Albarn and Hewlett are expected to appear in their own cartoon creation.

The programme makers describe the documentary as a humorous "blend of drama, documentary and animation". Guru-Murthy will interview the Gorillaz creative team, alongside celebrity fans and music industry commentators. It is due to be screened later this year.
