Damon Albarn's opera gets remixed
Diplo's version of 'Monkey Bee' is due out next month
Two remixes from Damon Albarn's opera 'Monkey: Journey To The West' are set to be released in the US next month.
Both Diplo and Kwes have remixed 'Monkey Bee', a track from the Mandarin opera reinterpreted by the Blur frontman and artist Jamie Hewlett, who also collaborated for Gorillaz.
The remixes are due out in a digital format on January 13.
Meanwhile, a deluxe, limited-edition version of 'Monkey: Journey To The West' is available via Vinyl Factory. The deluxe edition comes in a hand-mad, black cloth and gold foil box containing four signed Hewlett prints on archival paper, an 84-page art book and six bonus tracks.
'Monkey: Journey To The West' premiered in the UK in June 2007 and in the US earlier this year at the 2008 Spoleto Festival USA.
