Gorillaz guest vocalist Bobby Womack has said he considers Damon Albarn to be in the same class of musicians as Jimi Hendrix and Ray Charles.
Womack, who sang on recent Gorillaz single 'Stylo' and has been performing live with the band, told The Sun that working with Albarn reminded him of some of his previous studio partners.
"He's the same way [Hendrix and Charles were]. He's very creative and thinks way out there, trying things that people don't try," Womack explained, adding that "working with Gorillaz was different" than his time with other artists.
"There ain't no egos, these guys are cool," continued Womack.
Meanwhile, Damon Albarn also spoke about Gorillaz' forthcoming arena tour, which will take place this September.
"It's a logistical nightmare," the singer admitted of the audacious plans he's got for the shows, which include two dates at London's O2 Arena (September 14, 15). "You just don't get too stressed and just accept that sometimes its gonna work out, sometimes it's not!"
