TREE-MENDOUS!

And the pyschedelic Welsh popsters are gonna be on the telly...

Gorky's Zygotic Mynci will release an eight-track mini album, 'THE BLUE TREES', through MANTRA RECORDINGS on October 30.

The band are also the subject of a television show to be broadcast on Channel 4 in the UK on September 13. Titled 'Mynci 2000 (Half Naked In Belgium)' it was shot throughout the second leg of their Mynci 2000 tour as well as during recording sessions for 'The Blue Trees'.

The mini-album was recorded over eight days at Stiwdio Ofn in Anglesey and produced by long time Gorky's collaborator Gorwel Owen. The record includes three instrumentals as well as live favourites 'Lady Fair' and 'Fresher Than The Sweetness In Water', a cover of a track by The Honeybus.

'The Blue Trees' also marks the last recordings to feature drummer Euros Rowlands. Having joined in 1994, originally for a six-month period, he has finally packed up his kit to begin teaching art in Swansea.

Meanwhile, the remaining members have already begun sessions for their next album proper, set for release in 2001, their tenth anniversary.
