Gossip have been forced to cancel two forthcoming shows because singer Beth Ditto is ill.

The band have pulled tonight's (November 27) gig at Belgium's Halles de Schaerbeek, as well as Sunday's (29) 02 Academy Birmingham gig. Tomorrow's (28) gig at London Forum is still set to go ahead as planned.

A statement released on behalf of the band said that refunds for the cancelled gigs will be made available from the point of purchase.

"This Sunday's O2 Academy Birmingham show for Gossip has unfortunately had to be cancelled on medical advice," it read. "Beth has been advised that consecutive shows are contributing to her current throat condition. Tonight's show in Belgium and the show in Birmingham will have to be cancelled as a result. Refunds will be available for this from point of purchase."

The band's O2 Academy Manchester gig is also set to go ahead on Monday (November 30).
