Guitarist comments on the rumours

Graham Coxon has spoken out the rumours surrounding a Blur reunion.

Coxon quit the band in 2002 during the making of ’Think Tank’ to concentrate on his solo work. But it had recently been rumoured that the band would be reuniting with bassist Alex James saying in December: “There may be some news.”

Coxon said: “It’s gone through my mind a few times, believe it or not. I know a lot of Blur fans are annoyed with what I did - I really did have to explore my own regions, get myself happy.”

He told NME he left Blur because he needed to beat his own demons. He said: “When you go and get yourself straightened out after a period of abuse, it takes you longer than you think to get over it. It’s been five years.

“There were things that I really really needed to do for my own good. Personally and musically I had to do some things to see if I was capable.”
