BLACK CROWES frontman CHRIS ROBINSON has contributed sleevenotes to 'SACRED HEARTS', a new compilation from the late GRAM PARSONS due to appear in late April.
The album, which also features a selection of tracks which Parsons' recorded with long-time collaborator and friend Emmylou Harris, will be released through Rhino Records on April 17 in the US, reports www.billboard.com. At press time there has been no confirmation of a UK release.
'Sacred Hearts' traces a line through Parsons' entire career, drawing tracks from his brief time with The Byrds, as well as four songs from his Flying Burrito Brothers band - including their cover of The Rolling Stones ' Wild Horses' - and his solo albums 'G.P' and 'Grevious Angel'.
Aside from Chris Robinson, journalists Holly George-Warren and Bud Scoppa contributed liner notes.
Parsons died of heart failure on September 19, 1973. He was 26-years-old.
