Green Day have joined a campaign to fight America's “oil addiction”.
The band have joined forces with the Natural Resources Defense Council For The Move America Beyond Oil campaign.
In a statement singer Billie Joe Armstrong said: “Our message is that it’s OK, and very rebellious, to take on that responsibility.”
The band have set up a special website GreenDayNRDC.com that allows fans to send text messages directly to lawmakers and corporate leaders to demand change.
