The Germs' drummer Don Bolles was arrested in Newport Beach, California when police accused him of carrying the date-rape drug, GHB.

As it turned out, it was soap, not dope.

Newport Beach police had pulled over the legendary punk rocker for a broken taillight on April 4 when they spotted what they believed to be GHB inside a soap bottle in the drummer's van.

Bolles spent three days in jail before an in-depth analysis at the Orange County Sheriff's Department crime lab revealed there was no GHB in the yellow liquid soap. As a result, all charges against Bolles will be dismissed, reports the Los Angeles Times.

Bolles joined legendary Los Angeles punk band The Germs in the 1970s. They have since been credited with influencing countless bands such as Green Day. The band's surviving members reunited in 2005 and are planning to tour this summer.
