Green Day fans have overwhelmingly applauded the first US club shows by the punk-pop band's alter-ego The Foxboro Hot Tubs.
The band released an album, 'Stop Drop And Roll!!!', as the fictional garage-rock band earlier this month and have embarked on their first tour, which kicked off on May 15.
Two fans, Rachel and Nick Galvan, who saw the band at the Dallas Loft (May 21), said: "There are no words to describe how incredible this show was.
"Green Day has shown they are truly appreciative of their fans and respect them. We love Green Day and are thankful for the years of kick ass music that just keeps coming."
Fan Lynn Mortimore, who saw the band at Juanita's Cantina in Little Rock, Arkansas (May 19), listed the show's high points as: "The Reverend [Billie Joe Armstrong's alter-ego] pulling people out of the crowd and encouraging them to stagedive and the many times that he decided to plant big sloppy kisses on a poor unsuspecting member of the audience."
Bob Estes, also at the Little Rock gig, applauded the band's "unceasing energy. They encored with the complete The Who's 'A Quick One While He's Away' (the just under ten-minute track from the band's 1966 album 'A Quick One'), which confused most of the crowd. An altogether amazing show."
Fan Niki praised Armstrong's stage antics at the show at Toot's Tavern in Crockett, California on May 16, saying: "The Foxboro Hot Tubs rocked their fucking asses off until Billie Joe made a final perfect backwards swan dive into the crowd, surfed and landed back on the stage."
The Foxboro Hot Tubs play the final show of their tour tonight (May 28) at Long Beach, California.
