NME readers have reacted with a mixed response to Green Day's latest album, 'Tre'.

The album, which is the third release by the US band in 2012, is released next week (December 10) and is streaming exclusively on NME.COM now.

Andrea Ronchi led the more positive comments, writing on NME's Facebook page: "HOLY FUCK! THIS ALBUM IS AMAZING! the bests for me are brutal love and 99 revolutions!" Meanwhile, Rob Worsfold wrote: "It's easily the best of the three," while Liam Firth was blown away, commenting: "This album is brilliant! what were you expecting? Dookie, Warning and Nimrod again? That was never going to happen. They are not 'passed it' there best days aren't behind them, The music there wacking out now still blows my mind, churning songs like this out for the last 25 years! This is my fav album of the trilogy! f*cking awesome! Just be glad bands like Green Day still exist!"

However, not everybody agreed with Liam on the album, with many expressing negative opinions on the LP. Lewis Tanner wrote: "Pains me to say it as a massive Green Day fan, but what a sorry excuse of an album. In fact, what a sorry excuse of a trilogy of albums. Please stop," with Steven Geiss adding: "Been a fan since 92 and these three albums are the weakest they've ever done. Really gutted because the concept behind them seemed good and I was really looking forward to hearing them."

The album is the final installment of the band’s album trilogy, '¡Uno!, ¡Dos!, ¡Tré!', which has been released in three stages. The first record, '¡Uno!', was released in September while the second part, '¡Dos!’, followed in November.

Although 'Tre' will be the final album in the series, the band announced last month that they will release a documentary titled ¡Quatro! next year. Speaking about the film, bassist Mike Dirnt said: " brings our fans one step closer by giving them even more access and revealing what it was like for us to make these records."
