Grimes and Jay-Z were spotted smoking cigars together before the Grammy Awards on Saturday (January 25).

The pair were photographed at the annual Roc Nation pre-awards brunch thrown by the rapper, who performed with wife Beyoncé later that night at the ceremony. Also in attendance at the party were Rihanna, J. Cole, Calvin Harris, Rita Ora, Willow Smith, TI and comedian Kevin Hart.

Grimes signed to Jay-Z's management company Roc Nation in 2013. The specifics of Grimes' deal with Roc Nation are not yet known, but other artists who have management deals with the company include Rihanna, Haim and Timbaland. Speaking at the time, Grimes said she had "joined the X-Men".

The Canadian artist recently hinted that her new album will be released in September. The singer, who released her latest album 'Visions' in 2012, is due to release a follow-up this year. Grimes has suggested that her new album will come out on September 9 to fans on Twitter.
