Gruff Rhys to release 'Atheist Xmas' EP
Super Furry Animals frontman Gruff Rhys is set to release an 'alternative' Christmas EP.

Entitled 'Atheist Xmas', the three-track record will be available on December 19 on 12” vinyl format and will feature the songs 'Post Apocalypse Christmas’, ‘At the End of the Line’ and ‘Slashed Wrists This Christmas’.

Last month Gruff Rhys won the inaugural Welsh Music Prize with his album 'Hotel Shampoo'.

Manic Street Preachers, The Joy Formidable and The Blackout were among the other acts nominated for the new award, which was billed as Wales' equivalent to the Mercury Music Prize.

Other nominated artists for the prize include Funeral For A Friend, and Y Niwl. The winner was picked by a panel which included Reading Festival booker Neil Pengelly, NME's own Deputy Editor Mike Williams and BBC Radio Wales and 6 Music DJ Bethan Elfyn.
