Guns N' Roses cancel South African dates
Nation's biggest festival loses headliner
Guns N' Roses have cancelled their shows in South Africa, leaving the nation's largest outdoor festival without a headliner.
The band were scheduled to headline the My Coke Festival 2007 with Hoobastank and Evanescence at Johannesburg's New Market Racecourse on April 27, as well as Cape Town's Kenilworth Racecourse on May 1.
They will no longer play these dates due to an injury suffered by bassist Tommy Stinson.
"Stinson recently sprained his left wrist in a fall and the injury has not yet healed," reads a statement issued by promoter Big Concerts. "As a result, Guns N' Roses will not make their two scheduled performances at My Coke Fest in South Africa at the end of the month."
The African dates were supposed to kick off the band's world tour.
Guns N' Roses' Japanese shows have also been postponed indefinitely.
