Blogger who leaked tracks has been released on bail

Former Guns N' Roses guitarist Slash has slammed the blogger who allegedly leaked nine songs from the yet to be released Axl Rose-produced 'Chinese Democracy'.

The FBI arrested Kevin Cogill earlier this week in Los Angeles after he posted the songs on his website back in June.

Cogill has now been released on $10,000 bail - but could face up to three years in prison and $250,000 in fines.

According to Latimes.com the band released a statement saying: "Presently, though we don't support this guy's actions at that level, our interest is in the original source. We can't comment publicly at this time as the investigation is ongoing."

However it Slash, who has not performed on the album, has been more vocal.

He said: ""I hope he rots in jail. It's going to affect the sales of the record, and it's not fair. The internet is what it is, and you have to deal with it accordingly, but I think if someone goes and steals something, it's theft."

Cogill's lawyer, Anthony Eaglin, refused to comment.

Slash is right. posting a video on YouTube of new material from shows in one thing, but theft is theft.

You gotta respect Slash's loyalty to Axl through it all, despite everything.

Would this be the same Slash who has just had to handover 20% of the royalties from the VR song - Dirty Little Thing to Tony Newton from Vodoo SIx for plagiarism?

Would this be the same Slash who hasn't recorded a semi-decent song since "November Rain"?And to be honest, even that was borderline...
