Guns N' Roses' 'Chinese Democracy' set for exclusive release this year?

Long-awaited album could be out before 2009

Guns N' Roses' long-awaited album 'Chinese Democracy' could be set for an exclusive release later this year.

The album, the follow-up to 1993's covers album 'The Spaghetti Incident?', may come out exclusively through US retailer Best Buy, according to Billboard.com.

Guns N' Roses were believed to be pursuing this method of release, as previously reported.

However, no release date has yet been set, and there's no suggestion of when or how the album will be released in the UK.

Guns N' Roses' last original work was the simultaneous double release of 'Use Your Illusion I' and 'Use Your Illusion II' in September 1991.

Vocalist Axl Rose is the last remaining member of the line-up who began work on 'Chinese Democracy' in the '90s.

An Open Letter To Axl Rose,The funny thing is, after all that time, effort and money no-one actually gives a shit about 'Chinese Democracy'. Perhaps if you had released the album in 1995, when your band were still relevant someone might have bought it.Also, on a slightly lighter note, you look like a tit with dreadlocks - everyone knows you're going bald.

hmm we hear this every few months, its no doubt get gonna get slated even if its better than "destruction". I'd be more excited if it was the orginal line up, Axl's a bit rubbish these days, no offence GNR fans.

I'll believe it when I see it Axl. But you are setting yourself up for a big fall if it's not fifteen years' worth of effort...

I've heard the leaked tracks, it's fucking wank. It's a bad joke. He needs to fuck off and morons need to stop indulging his twatty ego.

I hope it does come out, but not for musical reasons. It's because i have a 20 quid bet with mates that it will come out by the end of the year. Go on Axl release the album this year it's worth a 20 quid bet!

Surely the best thing they can do is not release the album...prehaps foster some kind of intrigue or enigma...it's a shame as he's totally discredited the whole brand...

If the leaked tracks are anything to go by, Chinese Democracy is going to be amazing. Sure, it won't be the same as the old Guns n Roses, the sound has evolved, but Axl is still a genius. I hope it is released this year, but we've been disappointed too many times to hold out much hope now. (By the way, Axl Rose is not the last remaining member of the line-up who began work on the album - Dizzy Reed has been with the band since 1990.)
