Guns N' Roses tribute band to boycott 'inferior' 'Chinese Democracy' songs

UK group don't believe new album will be up to standard

A Guns N' Roses tribute band have said they expect to boycott tracks from the band's forthcoming album 'Chinese Democracy' because they won't compare well with the band's classics.

Although not ruling out covers altogether UK Guns N' Roses are not hopeful about the much-delayed album, which will eventually be released on November 24.

"We're undecided as to whether or not we play any of the new Guns material next year as we feel it probably won't be anywhere near the work by the original, and best line-up (in our humble opinion)," they explained in a mailout. "So we're thinking of naming the New Year tour the 'Stick To Your Guns Tour 09'."

Well, we are still waiting to hear most of it but yeah, from the first single, i dont think many are hopeful that it will match the magic 1987-1992 GNR era. Velvet revolver came 70% close with a fantastic album and a not-so-fantastic one. Just goes to show that the original band were more than the sum of their parts. Something magical happened between those guys like Led Zep, Stones.. etc. Its impossible for one, two or a few members to trulely hit that peak without everyone involved. Why the F**ck did axl go and have to deprive all of their fans of the band. We could have had 5-8 GUNS N ROSES albums in this peroid of inactivity. I'm sure he has his own personal reason but he really has deprived the rock community of its last truely special ROCK BAND.Come on Axl & Co.... put your differences behind you and give us what we want....... the old GNR back!!!Oh by the way, our website is http://www.ukgunsnroses.com

Oh dear, really, UK Guns N Roses? A tribute band that isn't going to enact all their songs? If you are as clued up on the earlier Guns N' Roses as you sound you are, you should go and write your own material, please, it would be lovely to hear.

I think Axls gonna bring a whole new sound to th G n R name, it aint gonna be rock n roll like we know it. Sure, it will be good, bit not the best album of the last 17 years (like it should be!) More of a Elton John/ N,I.N crossover act! All the best, but i dont think a reunion is gonna be on the cards, too many bridges burnt! Oh yeah, lay off UK G n R , great tribute band (seen em 5 times!) Saw the real Gunners at Milton Keynes in 94 and gotta say, Uk G n R sound better than they did then! Think they should go back to being called Bad Obsession though, UK G nR oozes cheese! lol

Hahaha, funniest news ever. I bet they can't even play the new solos on Rockband 2 in expert.

No sergejg, they actually play real instruments, outdoors, interacting with other human beings. So I guess the answer to your question is no they probably can't, but enjoy your game console, sounds like you play alot!I've seen UK GnR many times and I can't praise them enough. At one gig I went to they did a Velvet Revolver cover and it was fab so I guess if there are any songs on the new album that stand out we may hear them do those to occasionally. As for writing their own material, I feel a new take on "get in the ring" coming on!Can't wait to see you on 20th Dec guys!xxx
