Guns N' Roses hint at 'Chinese Democracy' follow-up

Rumours of a reunion are also denied

Guns N' Roses frontman Axl Rose has hinted that a follow up to 'Chinese Democracy' could be on the cards after finally breaking his silence over the long awaited album.

Speaking to various fan forums and messageboards, the singer said there was a wealth of material left over which could be released in the near future.

"For now we'll concentrate and keep our focus on this album but I will say I've always thought of it as a double," he said.

He also spoke about why the original line-up split and a recent court case brought by Duff McKagan and Slash, reports Billboard.

"What I can say now is you've been told a lot of things in order for others to promote themselves that factually they cannot backup in regard to either," Rose said. "They are complicated legally, financially and have devoured a good portion of my life."

Meanwhile, the band's manager Irving Azoff has dimissed rumours of the original line up getting back together, according to Yahoo.

In a statement he said: "There are no plans of a reunion, nor have there been any discussions of a reunion, with former Guns N' Roses band members."

So when will this follow-up get released? By 2019?

He can call it whatever he wants but it's the Axl Rose Band without the original guys. I'd rather go see Adler's Appetite than this masquerade.

Chinese Democracy is a flop. If there is a follow up, Axl will have to go indie, because I doubt Geffen will back another GN'R album, based on the current album's sales numbers.

The only way Guns N' Roses will become relevant in today's music scene is if all of the original band members were to reunited for a new album. Other than that, people will not care. Many people feel that the current incarnation of GN'R is more like Axl the Asshole and Company, not the GN'R we fondly remember. This makes for waning interest and low record sales for Axl.

Bloody hell, Axl, do not spoil it any more. Did you not learn from use Your Illusion? Just because you have 30 tracks for example, it doesn't mean they should all be released? Quality not quantity.

Whatever band Axl Rose is in will always be called Guns n Roses, it's a joke lol This band are no more Guns n Roses than Velvet Revolver are.

iMacDaddy really doesn't know what he's talking about at all. Chinese Democracy is NOT a flop. It's sold more albums than many other NUMBER 1 sellers. You just don't like it so you call it a flop. No one cares about your opinions. They only care what sells shit for brains.

Axl IS Guns n Roses...not the other guys. Axl did 90% of the writing, 90% of the orchestrating. People are stupid when they think that a sloppy lead Guitar like slash really contributed anything.

axl is a gifted man. he has been given the annoiting of God or a hight power, whatever makes you feel good. He puts me in mind of John Lennon, who just wanted to hear. I thnk Axl wants people to hear. wdw

to be fair, John Lennon wouldn't publically kick off about guitar hero using his songs, wouldn't make a fool of himself by filing lawsuits with drinks companies, and most certainly wouldn't sell music he made with session musicians as "The Beatles"
