Guns N' Roses leaker pleads guilty
Kevin Cogill could be sentenced to a year in prison
The man accused of leaking several Guns N' Roses tracks online from their new album 'Chinese Democracy' pleaded guilty in a Los Angeles court this morning (December 15).
Kevin Cogill is accused of violating federal copyright laws by uploading nine of the veteran rockers' tracks on his website this summer, before their highly anticipated album was released. He was arrested at his home in Los Angeles in August and was released on bail.
Cogill admitted to leaking nine of the 14 songs that appeared on the album, but has not publicly stated how he received the tracks, reports the Associated Press.
The plea deal requires him to cooperate with investigators, and may lead to a sentence of up to a year in federal prison, probation and a large fine.
