Guns N' Roses bassist Tommy Stinson to busk outside O2 Arena before tomorrow's headline show
Stinson will be raising money for the Timkatec schools project in Haiti on June 1
Writing on Twitter, Stinson said that he will be hopefully be performing at 4pm in Greenwich, unless the Guns N' Roses' soundcheck is scheduled for the same time, in which case, he'll be playing after in a local pub. Stinson wrote:
Friday it is.!!!Busking in Greenwich around 4pm w/ Matt Ryder unless i have a soundcheck in which case i will do after soundcheck in a pub— Tommy Stinson (@tommy_stinson) May 30, 2012
He went on to explain that he is busking for an education charity in Haiti, called Timkatec, saying: "I'm busking for Timkatec schools!!!! All proceeds from me busking will go to Timkatec schools." Earlier he wrote: "A guitar, a flask, some songs, and a few people is all i need. See you there".
Guns N' Roses also play tonight (May 31) at London's O2 Arena. Earlier this week (May 29) they tested their fans' patience by not taking to the stage until after 11pm (BST).
The band were performing at Manchester's Arena and were due on at 10pm (BST), but didn't actually hit the stage until over an hour later. The band still played a 33-song, three hour show, which finished at 2.15am. This was despite being told by organisers that they had to finish by 11pm. By the end, there were reportedly only 6,000 in the venue, 10,000 less than the arena's capacity.
