Hadouken! to let fans have album two weeks early

Hadouken! are to offer fans a chance to get their hands on their debut album two weeks before it hits the shops on May 5.
Fans who subscribe to the band’s ‘Aerials’ community will also receive free B-sides, remixes and tickets to fan club-only gigs, as well as free entry to a proposed Hadouken! festival.
From 4pm today (March 3), you can also order their debut album as a limited edition box set complete with a host of exclusive extras.
Speaking to NME.COM, frontman James Smith said: “Special copies of the album will be released with a bonus DVD and a book of the lyrics, a nice, quality, coloured page book of the lyrics. We got artists to reinterpret the lyrics with typography and things so it’s going to be quite visual.
“People don’t really value music anymore so we wanted to do something where they would actually value it and want to buy it and not just download it for free on Napster or whatever. We wanted to do the kind of thing like the Radiohead box set.”
Smith explained that ‘Aerials’, which fans can join for £24 a year, is designed to give something back to their biggest fans, saying: “There’s a hardcore of Hadouken! fans that I think we can rely on to keep us afloat, which is wicked.
"We just want to keep respecting them, they make you who you are so you’ve got to kind of give them something so they come back to you – so hopefully we can do that with the box set and with free gigs we’re going to put on around the album as well.
“Every time we release a single and B-side we’ll get it to those guys first, hopefully for free.”
Hadouken! have also filmed a video for the pre-released track ‘Get Smashed Gate Crash’, which documents the band getting drunk and gatecrashing a party.
“We went out on the lash, went to a pub, went bar-hopping around London, went to a club and then gatecrashed a party – gatecrashed an actual party! It was weird, we walked in with all these DV cameras. Pilau [Daniel Rice, guitarist] was sick over his new trainers too, it was so funny.”
