Haim and Los Campesinos! engage in sweary Twitter battle

Both bands were playing Manchester and sent each other v-flicking picture messages

Haim and Los Campesinos! last night (December 8) engaged in a swearing battle on Twitter.

The beef started when Los Campesinos! frontman Gareth Paisey posted a picture that saw him sticking two fingers up at the venue in Manchester Haim were due to play on Sunday evening, The Ritz, which just so happened to be across the road from the venue Los Campesinos! were headlining, Gorilla.




Haim responded to Gareth's tweet by posting a picture of their own, with them flicking the V's at the camera alongside the audience at The Ritz. Bassplayer Este Haim later tweeted from her personal account, writing: "YOU FUCK WITH ME I FUCK WITH YOU HARDER. AND I LOVE EVERYONE THAT WAS AT THE SHOW TONIGHT".




Gareth then wrote that Haim fans were threatening him outside Gorilla, writing: "Haim fans are waiting outside the venue to shout abuse at me. They are chanting "fuck you Gareth"." He added: "I've never even heard a HAIM song as far as I know! Tom says the album's really great. I just love the #banter". Earlier today he explained that he would have done the same with any band playing at a venue close to him, writing: "I don't dislike HAIM. Would have done the same tweet at literally any band playing that close to ours."

Haim play London's HMV Forum tonight (December 9) whilst Los Campesinos! play London's Heaven.
