Madchester legends head to Brighton Pier

Happy Mondays to play in fish and chip shop
Happy Mondays are set to play a fish and chip shop on Brighton pier just prior to their UK comeback tour.

The band will play a intimate gig in the unusual place as part of the T-Mobile street gigs season.

Frontman Shaun Ryder said: “I love Brighton. Like us it’s sleazy and mucky and cool and funky…It’s the first time we’ll have played the new stuff. Anyone who doesn’t like ‘em will be chucked into the sea."

To have a change of getting tickets register online at t-mobile.co.uk/music from next Thursday (May 3) until May 11.

Those who attend will also receive unlimited access to The Great Escape festival, which will take place between May 17-19 and will be headlined by The Magic Numbers, The Rakes and CSS.

Happy Mondays will follow up the unique gig with shows at the following venues:

Aberdeen Music Hall (23)
