Happy Mondays cancel New York shows
It’s not just Bez who can’t get a visa sorted
The band were scheduled to perform as part of Tony Wilson’s In The City of New York music conference, what would have been their first show in the city in over 10 years.
Although dancer Bez was refused a visa earlier this year, the rest of the band were able to secure entry to the US for their performance at Coachella in April. However, these were single-entry visas “due to their prosecution histories” and the visa application process had to be restarted upon their return to the UK.
Meanwhile, ITC of NY will announce updates shortly on venue changes for June 13. The Rakes will perform as the headlining act, with The Pigeon Detectives as openers.
