Happy Mondays confirmed for Manchester Versus Cancer gig Happy Mondays Tickets

Shaun Ryder set for homecoming show

Happy Mondays are the latest band to be added to the line-up of the forthcoming Versus Cancer gig, which takes place in Manchester on December 12.

Shaun Ryder and co join the likes of Snow Patrol, James' Tim Booth, Jim Glennie and Larry Gott, New Order's Peter Hook and the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra & Joe Duddell on the bill.

The annual concert, at Manchester's MEN Arena, has been partly organised by former Smiths bassist Andy Rourke. Money raised will go towards helping cancer patients in the north-west.

Speaking about the gig and cause, Happy Mondays said: "Versus Cancer is a great charity and we're really pleased to be part of it once again. We've been involved pretty much every year and it's a cause we love. Everyone's getting together behind the scenes and working on the sets and collaborations to make sure the night is one to remember, and we can't wait to get onstage."

Tickets for the gig are on sale now. See Versuscancer.org for more information.

"make sure the night is one to remember,"HahahahahahaThat's brilliant, I bet they literally mean that, since they spent so much of their career so out of their skulls that they actually don't remember most of the gigs they did!
