HAC THE END OF THAT!
The contents of the seminal Hacienda nightclub in MANCHESTER are to go under the hammer at a charity auction next month, before the building is demolished to make way for luxury flats.

Many of the most famous parts of the Hacienda building, including the DJ booth, dancefloor, light fittings, bar, stage and telephones are all up for sale.

A spokesperson for the Hacienda told NME.COM: "We've had a really good response already. I think a lot of the buyers will be clubbers who used to visit the club in its prime will be interested in buying a piece of their history, as would current bar and club owners across the world."

Other lots which are expected to raise significant amounts of money are the chairs from the club where the members of the Happy Mondays used to regularly sit, as well as two handprints set in concrete, one signed by Tony Wilson, the other by New Order and Hacienda co-owner Peter Hook. They read 'Tony '94' and 'Hooky '94' respectively.

The auction takes place on November 25 at the nearby Richard Conrad building in Manchester city centre, and the proceeds of the auction will be given to the Greater Manchester Community Foundation, who fund grass roots projects in inner city Manchester.

Photographs of some of the lots can currently be viewed on the auction website, www.hacauction.com.
