Happy Mondays frontman Shaun Ryder publishes his autobiography, Twisting My Melon, today (September 15).

The book will look at Salford-born Ryder’s life in depth, including his addiction to heroin, which started when he was 18 and his forming of the Happy Mondays in 1980. It will also cover the band’s rise to fame which culminated in their third album, ‘Pills, Thrills And Bellyaches’, which was produced by Paul Oakenfold and entered the charts at Number One.

Looking at the band’s eventual split, Ryder’s descent into drug addiction again, the formation of Black Grape and his time in I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here’ last year, the book is published by Bantam Press.

Earlier this year Shaun Ryder commented on the long mooted reunion of The Stone Roses saying they will definitely reform, because singer Ian Brown needs the money.

He said: "I think it'll happen, I really do. There is more of a chance now than ever of them getting back together. Ian [Brown]'s just split with his missus and I bet she's hit him for a few quid.”
