The Strokes and Har Mar Superstar get 'sexy' at gig

Fab Moretti joins for raucous London festival set

The Strokes' drummer Fab Moretti teamed up with Har Mar Superstar last night (August 5) for a raucous performance at the 1234Shoreditch festival.

Headlining the MySpace Stage at 8.15pm, Moretti, wearing a blue t-shirt and trouser braces, and sporting short cropped hair, played drums centre stage as backing for the portly singer.

Throughout the set Har Mar Superstar pointed out a variety of female fans in the audience.

“You in the white shirt. I’m going to fuck you tonight,” he said at one point, pointing to a female fan raised on a man’s shoulders.

“Is that your boyfriend?” he continued. After she nodded, the singer said, “Sorry dude…I’m gonna be fucking your girlfriend tonight.”

Running through a set of new tracks peppered with his bigger hits, Har Mar Superstar was in typically raucous form, stripping down to his underpants during a rendition of former single ‘D.U.I.’

Before beginning new track ‘Tall Boy’, which Har Mar revealed was originally written for Britney Spears but rejected by her manager, Moretti performed a break-dance on-stage and simulated a sex act with Superstar.

During new song ‘As’, Har Mar Superstar peeled off his shirt and squatted next to Moretti’s drum kit, prompting the Strokes man to suck his nipple in jest.

Later in the show, after a hi-energy performance of ‘E.Z. Pass’, Superstar and Moretti performed a short choreographed dance, which ended with the singer lying on his back and the drummer pouring an entire bucket of water over him.

Moretti stood up and performed a short rap midway through the song.

The set ended with a manic rendition of new song ‘Brothers And Sisters’, with around 30 people dancing onstage.
