Henry Rollins – the former Black Flag frontman turned actor and comedian – has been enlisted by the National Geographic Wild channel to host a new show.

According to a report from Paste Magazine, the burly singer will be in front of the cameras for a new series entitled Animal Underworld.

Rollins has already presented an hour long show called Snake Underworld, which includes a visit to fellow metaller Kerry King of Slayer to have a look at his impressive python collection. Snake Underworld will air in the UK on Nat Geo Wild on July 11 at 8pm.

Animal Underworld will have Rollins visiting Road Kill Cafe in Arizona and meeting people who consume things like frog smoothies and tarantulas,” says the Paste Magazine article about the new series.

“It’s really an investigation into our relationship with animals,” said National Geographic Wild‘s Senior Vice President Geoff Daniels. “It’s covering the full range from the off-beat and quirky to the potentially illicit. And our approach to [the latter] is to make sure that we’re obviously not encouraging that behaviour.”
