JIMMI LAWRENCE'S MOTHER RUNS FOR CHARITY
The mother of the late Hope Of The Statesguitarist JIMMI LAWRENCE has announced she is running the LONDON MARATHON for MIND.

Janet Lawrence is completing the 26-mile race for the mental health charity as they were an organisation Jimmi had backed before his death.

“I used running to make me feel better in the dark days following Jimmi’s death,” explained Janet of her reason for running. “It seemed appropriate to raise money for the charity at the same time.”

The race takes place on April 17 and Janet said she thought her participation would have amused her son. “Knowing Jimmi he’ll be watching me on the day in fits of laughter just hoping I trip up!” she joked.

Jimmi Lawrence was a founder member of Hope Of The States. He hanged himself at Real World Studios in January 2004 just before the band completed their debut album ‘The Lost Riots’.
