'Notting Hill' star will play six parts in the new adaptation of David Mitchell's novel
Hugh Grant has revealed that he will play six characters in new film Cloud Atlas and among them are roles as a killer, cannibal and rapist.
The actor, who has been cast alongside Jim Broadbent, Tom Hanks and Halle Berry in the new adaptation of David Mitchell’s novel, has added that he will buried under “an awful lot of prosthetic make-up” in the film.
Asked about his role in Cloud Atlas, Grant told Empire: “I have six cameo parts in this strange, ambitious film. I do a lot of killing and raping. I wear an awful lot of prosthetic make-up, too. You probably won’t know that I am in the film!”
The film has been written by Run, Lola, Run scribe Tom Twyker and is being directed by the Wachowski brothers, who were also behind the camera for The Matrix Trilogy and Speed Racer.
Speaking about working with the Wachowski brothers, Grant replied: “But it was a laugh. I thought before I read it that I’d turn it down, which I normally do, but I was interested in meeting the Wachowskis because I have always admired them enormously. And they are so charming and fascinating.”
Cloud Atlas is set to be released in October into cinemas.
