Hurts bring out ballerinas for Shockwaves NME Awards performance
Manchester band enjoy ‘Wonderful Life’ at ceremony
Hurts have performed their hit 'Wonderful Life' with the aid of a few special guests at the Shockwaves NME Awards 2011 ceremony at London's O2 Academy Brixton tonight (February 23).
The Manchester duo performed the song as a full band and were joined by a troupe of black-clad ballerinas for the performance.
Singer Theo Hutchcraft got into the noir-ish spirit, donning sunglasses to accompany his leather gloves and black coat for the show.
The band are hoping that it won't be their first foray onstage tonight – Hurts are nominated in the Best New Band category, where they face competition from Beady Eye, Everything Everything, The Drums and Two Door Cinema Club.
Hutchcraft is also in contention for the award for Best Band Blog Or Twitter for his tweeting action.
