Hurts singer Theo Hutchraft has revealed how a fan recently gave the band pig fat during their European tour.

The frontman said the strange gesture was just one of a series of bizarre items fans have bestowed on the band. He told The Sun:
The fans in Eastern Europe don't mess about. In Kiev, they brought us pig fat, our own Russian dolls and handmade clocks. One of them painted a full watercolour of Adam [Anderson] playing a piano. It can be a bit dark sometimes but it's flattering.

The electro pop duo were recently voted band of the summer by NME.COM users. They beat the likes of My Chemical Romance, Pulp, Kasabian and Muse to top the poll.

They are set to release a deluxe edition of their 2010 debut 'Happiness' next Monday (October 31). The release features a series of rare unreleased tracks and a DVD featuring a recent live concert from Berlin.

Hurts are set to play a two shows in the UK next week wrapping up at Brixton Academy on November 4. To check availability of Hurts tickets and get all the latest listings, go to NME.COM/TICKETS now, or call 0871 230 1094.
