Ian Brown plays Stone Roses classic at Leeds Festival - video

Manchester legend gets the crowd dancing

Ian Brown brought out the sun at Leeds Festival this evening (August 28) as he did his best to get the crowd dancing, playing a classic song by The Stone Roses as part of his set.

The singer, who was backed by his five-piece band, was introduced onstage by a trumpet player before he arrived, dressed in a black and snakeskin tracksuit top and gold shades, to huge football chants of, "Ian Brown! Ian Brown! Ian Brown!".

He then asked the crowd, "Have you got your dancing shoes on?", before he kicked off his show with 'Sister Rose', from his 2007 album 'The World Is Yours'.

Following the track, he took a jovial dig at the audience, telling them: "You said you know about dancing, you don't know about dancing. Just to let you know there are no restrictions on your movements, you can move anywhere you like. That apparently applies all day."

As with his Reading And Leeds Festivals warm-up show in Wolverhampton on Wednesday (August 26), Brown debuted two new tracks from his forthcoming album 'My Way' including single 'Stellify' and 'The Crowning Of The Poor'.

Later, as he introduced Roses classic 'Fools Gold', Brown quipped: "You're going to like this one. Who likes bopping? Then bop."

As he rounded off his set he drafted in a keyboard player for 'F.E.A.R.' and 'Stellify'.
