Ian Brown played a surprise cover of The Beatles' 'All You Need Is Love' tonight (September 28) at an intimate London club show for competition winners.
The ex-Stone Roses singer headlined the Relentless Garage venue in front of a few hundred fans who had won free tickets. As well as the cover he played 'Fools Gold' by his old band plus new single 'Stellify' twice.
"Competition winners!" the frontman exclaimed as he arrived on stage at 9pm (BST). Opening with 'Time Is My Everything' followed by 'Golden Gaze', Brown then played his first rendition of 'Stellify'.
Later in the set, following a rapturously-received 'Fools Gold', he led his band through the Beatles cover - complete with live trumpet. He ended the set with a second rendition of 'Stellify'.
Ian Brown played:
'Time Is My Everything'
'Golden Gaze'
'Stellify'
'Sister Rose'
'Save Us'
'Fools Gold'
'F.E.A.R.'
'All You Need Is Love'
'Crowning Of The Poor'
'Stellify'
