Idlewild singer Roddy Woomble is set to release his debut solo album.
The Scottish rocker, who will also head out on tour to showcase his new work, releases ‘My Secret Is My Silence’ on July 24.
Five of the 11 songs on the record were written with Idlewild guitarist Rod Jones , while two were composed with the album's producer, acclaimed folk musician John McCusker.
Jones and McCusker appear on the album, recorded in South Yorkshire over nine days in March 2006. The band also features Woomble’s wife, Sons And Daughters bassist Ailidh Lennon, as well as folk artists Karine Polwart, Kate Rusby and Dave Burland.
