Idlewild showcase new songs at T In The Park
Scottish band play two new songs from forthcoming album
The new songs, entitled 'City Hall' and 'Readers And Writers', have an alt-country sound compared to the Edinburgh band's earlier material
The band took to the NME/Radio 1 stage as the sun appeared from behind the clouds and launched into 'Roseability', which had the crowd bouncing.
"Wow, that sun is really bright, isn't it?" said lead singer Roddy Woomble after 'Live In A Hiding Place'.
"I know you are not supposed to play new songs at festivals but I hope you like this one," he added before playing "Readers And Writers", which was met with rapturous applause from the die-hard fans.
Idlewild finished their crowd-pleasing set with fan favourite 'A Modern Way Of Letting Go', which saw a mosh-pit form at the front of the stage.
