The Stooges announce live show

The Stooges have announced plans to perform at next year's South By Southwest.

The band have confirmed a live appearance at the festival in Austin, Texas on March 17 2007.

The punk legends' appearance will come three days before their first album in 30 years, ‘The Weirdness’, is released, reports Billboard.

Following a reunion tour last year, Iggy Pop reunited with Scott and Ron Asheton for their first studio album since 1973, and recruited Mike Watt on bass. The Raconteurs' Brendan Benson has also contributed vocals to a track on the album called ‘Free and Freaky’.
