Ike Turner jailed in LA

It turns out his narcotics warrant was invalid

Ike Turner was arrested in Los Angeles on Tuesday (May 15) on a 1989 narcotics warrant that was eventually determined to be invalid.

The famed musician and ex-husband of Tina Turner was pulled over after police spotted him driving at more than 80 miles per hour and straddling lanes on Interstate 405 in the San Fernando Valley.

The police ran a check for warrants after they stopped the car, and found the nearly 20-year-old felony narcotics warrant. They then arrested and booked Turner in a downtown jail, reports the Associated Press.

Officer April Harding explained that he was released when the warrant was deemed invalid.

"He had court yesterday and I guess that they deemed it was an old warrant that was never removed from the system," she said.

Turner was released from jail yesterday (May 16) at approximately 3pm.
