Interpol are working hard on their third album - despite splitting up four times in the process.

Writing on thier official site interpolnyc.com, the band have explained that they’ve been working on new material for six months, there have been times when it didn't look likely to happen.

"We did break up – four times - but that’s all behind us now," stated the band. "In all seriousness, we’re hard at work on the writing of album three. We’ve been at it for six months... We’re all very excited about it and think that you will be too. Having yet to record, we can only say that Release(sic) will come sometime next year."

The as yet untitled album is expected to contain the songs ’The Heinrich Maneuver’ and ’Pawn Shop’ and will be the follow up to 2004’s ’Antics’.

The band will begin recording the new album this autumn having recently signed to new label Capitol. The record label hope to release the new record in July next year, Billboard reports.
