Interpol were forced to cancel a scheduled gig last night (August 21) at the Newcastle Academy venue after one of the band was struck down by illness.
Fans had already been admitted to the venue, when at 20.30 GMT an announcement was made over the loudspeaker that “Interpol are cancelling due to band member Carlos D falling ill”.
The band are scheduled gig to perform tonight at the Edinburgh Corn Exchange venue, as well as this weekend’s Carling Weekend: Reading And Leeds Festivals.
