Interpol wrap up US tour in LA
The New York rockers go out with a bang
Interpol wrapped up their autumn US tour last night (October 23) with a rousing show at the packed Los Angeles Forum.
The band kicked off their 80-minute set with 'Pioneer To The Falls', the haunting opening track from their new album 'Our Love To Admire', which prompted audience sing-alongs and cheers from the very beginning.
Dressed sharply in black suits and dress shirts, the New York rockers ran through recent tracks including 'No I In Threesome', 'Mammoth' and 'The Heinrich Maneuver', but it was the older material that sounded the tightest and seemed to most excite the band.
Frontman Paul Banks was typically quiet throughout the set, and didn't say much more than "thank you very much" between songs.
Guitarist Daniel Kessler displayed some fancy footwork while rocking out, and Carlos D grooved to his own basslines.
The band returned at the end of the night for a three-song encore that featured a controlled extended jam that got the crowd screaming and resulted in a mass clap-along.
Interpol ended the night by blowing kisses to the audience before leaving the stage.
